All our wool felt shoes are made to keep your feet warm, but some are designed to keep you extra warm on very cold days.
Nesnalobben and Femundlabben are our warmest shoes, recommended by everyone who spends a lot of time in snow and cold winter weather. Mushers are especially fond of Femundlabben, and we know the traditional Nesnalobben has been a good friend to everyone who has visited Rørosmartnan in sub-zero temperatures. Both shoes are also in high demand outside Norway, among people who spend a lot of time outdoors.
For the ultimate combination to keep your feet warm, we recommend an extra layer of insulation inside the shoe and overboots on the outside.
Femundlabben pairs well with thick wool socks, and the high Nesnalobben has plenty of room for wool felt liners if you choose the right size. We therefore recommend both shoes 2–3 sizes larger than a regular shoe, so the shoe adapts to your foot and there is room for extra insulation.
Rule of thumb:
TIGHT = COLD! The biggest and most common mistake is wearing shoes that are too small.

Wool felt liners (kartanker) are inner shoes made from thick felted wool.

Outdoors a lot, whatever the weather?
Protect your shoes and feet with one more layer. Waterproof overboots keep your shoes from getting wet, so your feet stay dry and warm. Wear overboots over your shoes or wool felt liners.
