Kristine Slyngstad is a photographer with roots in Sunnmøre and Telemark.
She studied media and communication with a specialisation in photography in Seljord, as well as a year of multimedia design at Noroff. In her twenties she travelled alone through Thailand, Japan, Russia on the Trans-Siberian Railway and 36 US states, among other places.
Today Slyngstad works on a project basis with portraits, weddings and events, but dog sledding is her great passion. She has photographed both Finnmarksløpet and Femundløpet, and is drawn to the raw and unvarnished side of the sport – the harsh weather and the strong bond between dog and musher.
Through her documentary eye on the dog sledding community, and her own connection to Femundløpet, Slyngstad is naturally close to the community Protex is part of as the race's sponsor.
