Linka Neumann is a knitwear designer and author, known for the book series Villmarksgensere (Wilderness Sweaters)
She holds a bachelor's degree in education, a background she describes as useful when writing patterns and publishing books. Neumann moved to Røros and developed her craft there, among other things by knitting together with residents and staff at a nursing home in the town.
She is the designer of the Villmarksgenser and the book series Villmarksgensere, which began with her debut book in 2019 and became a bestseller in Norway. Her knitwear is made from untreated Norwegian and Icelandic wool, chosen for its water-repellent and insulating properties.
Neumann has collaborated with mountaineer Kristin Harila on the Harila sweater, and created a dedicated knitwear collection for the Sled Dog World Championship at Røros/Femundløpet.
